Shift

Well hello there!

Yes, it has been ages. Life has happened and
things have shifted.

As many of you know, beads have taken a back seat to
photography these days. And I am loving it!!

That being said,
I have a new blog and would love it if you
would join my journey there.

It could use some love.

Here is where you can find me now.

Love to you!

Lensbaby Project {June}

June
Summer in full bloom!

My hubby and I headed to our local gardens to scout
out spots for me to shoot in. It was so amazingly beautiful
and peaceful at 7:30 am! Loved every minute of it.

I love the coloring in these.

The gorgeous pink edge.

Pure green and lush.

For those fleet of foot!
(love my son's new socks)

Next in our circle is

Please hop over and see what this month brought
for these wonderful photographers!

Whoa - check it out!

A post about beading!
Who would have known......

Znet shows sent me some of these wonderful glass
conch shell beads!

Seriously, love them.

Here is what I have created thus far
(I still have red and orange to play with)

Wine glass charm
Kinda bummed, the charm looks like it is moving.
But this is on MY glass and I love it.

Emerald is the Pantone color of the season,
so I am right in step!

This is my favorite one!
The blue shell in a MOP square
hung on blue leather.
So simple, so elegant. Goes with everything.

I can't wait to play with the red and orange,
just waiting for the bead muse to catch up, she has
been sleeping for a while now.

Focus on Life - Week 24 {Green}

GREEN!  The color of balance, learning, growth and harmony! GREEN evokes feelings of calm and symbolizes self-respect and well being.  What a great color to focus on!

I can do green!

I was out scoping places for shoots and came
across these adorable ones in a beautiful
green field. With all the water we have had
this year, things are so lush and full of life.

Hop on over to Sally's blog and see
what green everyone else found!

Focus on Life - Week 23 {Typography}

This week Sally is asking us to look at the written word,
to look at fonts, are some more pleasing than others?
Do some draw you in?

Small confession - I was at Barnes and Noble this weekend....

I immediately pulled out my iPhone and took a few
shots. I love all the different fonts - from
children's books to magazines.
The color, size, lines.
All intriguing.

The shapes

The use of color in the font

Quite possibly my favorite!

The depth and feeling

I love the jagged lines in the title

The shots of food are simply stunning!!!
(Had to buy this one, great recipes)

Please visit Sally's blog to see what other
wonderful typography others found.

Focus on Life - Week 22 {Foodie}

Hello!
I jumped at this prompt this week.
Foodie!
With the long weekend, and a party on
Memorial Day - I knew exactly what I was
going to photograph.

So divine!
Ice cream sandwiches stacked cross wise
covered in cool whip and drizzled
with chocolate and caramel magic shell.
The kids loved, loved this!
Please hop over to Sally's blog
to see what other wonderful foods were found.

Focus on Life - Week 20 {Looking Up}

Sally has encouraged us to look up!
To not miss something fun.

These are the fun decorations hanging from the ceiling at school
for the 8th grade MORP (Prom spelled backwards)
Chinese lanterns and flowers.

So festive and fun.

Please visit Sally's blog to see what everyone
else saw when they looked up!

Focus on Life - Week 19 {Hope}

"If you feel you know how to get what you want out of life, and
you have that desire to make that happen, then
you have hope"
Jennifer Cheavens

Sally's prompt this week is Hope.

I have struggled with this prompt this week.
Not really sure where
to start or end.

For me, hope goes along with faith.

You all have seen this before, but for me, this is one of the
pictures that captures hope and faith. The hope and faith that these
two remain close.

This relationship.
I know what I want from this and I
have the desire to make it happen!
25 years together and the faith in each other.
I could not do it without him.

And then there are the words of encouragement
on my new journey.
Hubby says he is proud of me.
My daughter says that I inspire her by
taking this new step.
And my son, always willing to be the
"test subject" in front of the lens.

In a round about way - all of this is my hope.
What I want out of life and the desire to make it happen.

Thank you Sally, for making me put this into words,
for making me think on this all week.
It has been very insightful.

Please visit Sally's blog to see how everyone
else had hope.

Focus on Life - Week 18 {Abstract}

Our focus this week was the abstract.

"Abstract: the use of a visual language of form, color and line to create a composition which may exist with a degree of independence from visual references in the world.
All things have form, color, and lines we just need to step back and step away from the literal image you see through the lens.
Take into account the lines, color or form and look for a more figurative composition. A blurred reflection in a puddle, the photo above I took of brightly colored petals of a flower slightly blurred and cropped close."

This is actually one of the panes in my front door with the morning
light starting to come through. I played in pixlr and
ended with this. It is a bit etherial, I think.

Please hop on over to Sally's blog to see how others
interpreted and found their abstracts!
